Media credentials will be issued to members of the working media, but not to advertising, marketing or other staff members of media. Freelancers will be accomodated only with submission of a letter of assignment on letterhead from NHRA-recognized news media.

It has come to our attention that some photographers are selling photographs both at and after the events.  Under the new NHRA photo policy this practice is prohibited without purchase of a license from the NHRA in Glendora.  Photographers are only credentialed for editorial purposes.  Selling photographs other than for editorial use is cause for denial of future credentials.   Selling photographs on Reunion premises is cause for immediate revocation of credentials and denial of future credentials.  Credentials for vendors are for sale and may be easily purchased.  Please see the following excerpt from the Photo Policy:

3. ACCREDITATION; USE OF IMAGES

3.1 Legitimate Media Assignment Required. Only accredited photographers on assignment for an NHRA-recognized news media outlet or other NHRA-accepted media outlets will be permitted to photograph NHRA events. NHRA does not recognize photo agencies or freelancers as media, and may in its sole discretion determine who is or is not NHRA-recognized.

3.2 Contemporaneous News Use Required. All photography use is restricted to reasonably contemporaneous newsworthy usage only, and reuse is prohibited except with the express written permission of NHRA.

3.3 No Freelancing. Freelance photographers are not permitted without specific assignment from an NHRA-recognized media outlet, and as expressly permitted by NHRA. A credential is required.

3.4 No Commercial Use. All use and reuse of all images obtained at all NHRA events for commercial purposes is prohibited except in accordance with a written license from NHRA. To inquire about licensing of event photos for commercial purposes, please contact the NHRA Communications Dept. at (626) 914-4761.

Starting line access is extremely limited, and will be under additional restrictions due to space limitation and safety requirements. Do not request this access if you don't absolutely need it. There is a limit of not more than one starting line credentials/photo vests per media outlet.  Anyone violating the starting line access restrictions will be removed and may lose all future access to events.

Due to insurance regulations, credentials will not be issued to anyone under 18 years old. Telephone requests cannot be honored. Credential holders will be required to sign a release prior to picking up their credentials. No credentials will be mailed.

Because of anticipated high demand, not all requests can be filled. Please read this form carefully before you make your final submission. When picking up credentials, you will need to have a valid, government-issued photo identification card. The name on the card must match the name on the credential confirmation which will be sent to you.  If you have questions, please send an email to

Requests from media members to cover a NHRA Hot Rod Reunion event must be event-specific and may be submitted for consideration by sending a typed request on official letterhead of the news outlet that includes an outline of proposed coverage, the names and duties of those assigned to the event, and the signature of the editor/director faxed to the attention of Jamie Stephens at 626-914-1491 or via e-mail (PDF preferred) to jstephens@nhra.com.
